Tomato Knives
A tomato knife answers a specific problem: skin that resists a straight edge over flesh that collapses under pressure. Güde’s answer is the pointed-tooth serration Franz Güde developed in the 1930s, ground by hand into a drop-forged, ice-hardened blade in Solingen. The teeth catch the skin rather than sliding across it, so the first stroke goes through without crushing what sits underneath.
All five are 5 inch serrated blades, one from each series Güde builds this pattern in: Alpha with a black Hostaform handle, Alpha Olive, Alpha Pear, Delta in African blackwood, and the all-metal Kappa, which won a Red Dot award. The four double-bolster models differ mainly in handle material, while the Kappa is stainless steel from tip to butt.
